Looking beyond healthy signals on a drilling rig
A system health check separated healthy operating signals from a duplicated fault reference in the control program.
Healthy readings do not always tell the whole system story.
The challenge
An energy-sector drilling rig provided a test of whether an AI-assisted health check could consider both live operating evidence and the control logic behind it.
What we tested
Given a request to perform a system health check, Agent Rung organised controller and module evidence into a structured inventory. Pressures, temperatures and other inputs were presented in an inspectable evidence table.
What the recorded analysis showed
Alongside healthy signals, Rung flagged two channels using the same fault reference in the program. The summary distinguished signal health from the program issue requiring specialist attention.
What this demonstrates
Combining operating data with logic review can give engineers a clearer starting point and a specific question to investigate. The result was a defined logic issue for specialist follow-up.
